Trongsa Tshechu Festival

The Trongsa Dzong in central Bhutan is the biggest fortress in the country. The three-day Trongsa Tshechu Festival is usually held in December in winter. It is the biggest festival in the region.

The main attraction of the festival is the unfurling of the sacred Thongdrol (a large tapestry) of Guru Rinpoche on the last day of the festival. The festival hosts several mask dances.
