The Laya-Gasa Trek is also a popular trek in Bhutan. It begins in Paro valley and you trek along the sub-alpine and alpine routes to Lingshi and Laya villages in Thimphu and Gasa districts, which are above 4,000m. The trek winds up at Tashitang in Punakha.
You begin the trek along the Jomolhari trekking route and it leads to across the breathtaking alpine scenery and landscape with snowcapped mountains and mirrored crystal lakes. You will meet a lot of highlander community people who are essentially yak herders and you can meet and interact with them and experience their lifestyle.
In Gasa, you can also relax and experience the famous hotspings.
