Birding Tours

Bhutan has often been called the birding capital of the world. Despite being a small country, Bhutan has about 800 species of birds and experts claim that the number could be well over 1,000 species. This number is more than 925 species of birds found in the USA and Canada combined. Even the whole of Europe does not have more than 1,000 species of birds

To site an example, the global population of the critically endangered “White bellied Heron” – the rarest of the heron species – is about 200 birds. And Bhutan has 24 of the birds which is which is more than any other country in the world.

Being a small country and with 70 percent of its land area covered in forests, Bhutan is a haven for birds.
